在完货后在每一货舱取样前至少须有30分钟的静待时间，主要是让货中的气泡、水或是其它物质能沉静以及避免产生任何潜在的静电。货物取样后必须由大副填写并纪录于样品纪录表(CHP-FM31)，并由大副及公证人员签字。

样品乃对抗货主索赔之重要证据，应适当保存及定期检查。样品须保存至少6个月；含抑制剂之货品，须标示抑制剂证书到期日，并于到期日处理该样品；若抑制剂之效期有温度限制，应每日记录样品间温度，必要时于甲板洒水降温。营运人／船东若另有对样品保留期限之指示者，则遵从其指示。2013.6
Cargo sample is important evidence against cargo receiver’s claims and it should be kept properly and inspected regularly. The cargo samples have to be retained onboard for a minimum of 6 months .Samples of inhibited cargo should be marked the expiry date of the inhibitor certificate, and disposed of on that date. If there’s any temperature limitation qualifying the inhibitor’s effective life-time, temperature of the sample locker should be re
corded each day. Water should be sprayed on deck to prevent the temperature from rising when necessary. Operator’s/Owners instructions regarding retention of cargo samples take precedence over the aforementioned storage period.
