My Family and Friends
I have a pretty big family with lots of people in it. Let me tell you about them! First, there are my parents. My mom's name is Sarah and my dad's name is Michael. My mom works at a big office downtown and my dad owns his own construction company. They are both really nice and take great care of me and my little brother Tommy.
Speaking of Tommy, he is 6 years old and just started 1st grade this year. He can be pretty annoying sometimes but I still love him. We share a room and play together a lot. Tommy likes superheroes and Lego and I have to admit, I like them too! We build big Lego cities on the floor of our room.
Then there are my grandparents on my mom's side - Grandma Ellen and Grandpa Rob. They live just a few blocks away which is awesome. Grandma always has cookies or other treats waiting when we come over. Grandpa likes telling us stories about when he was a kid "back in the olden days." They are a lot of fun.
My other grandparents, Karen and Bill, live far away in Florida so we only see them a couple times a year. But when we do, it's a big celebration! They have a pool at their house which is really cool. We spend a lot of time swimming and playing in the water when we visit them.
I also have two aunts, one uncle, and three cousins. Aunt Melissa and Uncle Greg live nearby with their two kids Johnny and Emma. Johnny is 10 and Emma is 8. We always have fun playing together. Aunt Melissa takes us fun places like the zoo or children's museum.
My other aunt, Aunt Rachel, lives a couple hours away with her daughter Lily who is 7. We don't get to see them as much but we still try to get the cousins together for sleepovers
and stuff a few times a year. Lily and I really get along well.
At school, I have a good group of friends too. My best friend is Alex. We've been friends since kindergarten. He lives right down the street from me so we can ride our bikes to each other's houses. Alex and I both love sports, especially baseball. We practice pitching and batting in his backyard a lot.
I'm also friends with Maya and Jacob at school. Maya is really good at art and drawing. She's really creative. Jacob is really smart and gets good grades. He helps me out with my math homework a lot since I'm not that great at it. The three of us have fun together at recess playing on the playground equipment and practicing our cartwheels.
So that's my family and friends! We may be a big, crazy bunch, but I love them all. Between my family members and school friends, I'm surrounded by a lot of great people. I feel really lucky and blessed. Even if we get on each other's nervers once in a while, we're always there for one another. That's what family and friends are all about!

My Family and Friends
I have a great family and lots of fun friends! My family is pretty big and we're all really close. There's my mom and dad, my older brother Jake, my younger sister Emily, my grandma and grandpa on my mom's side, and my aunt, uncle, and three cousins on my dad's side.
My mom is the best! She takes care of all of us and makes sure we have everything we need. She packs my lunch for school every day and it's always my favorite - a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, an apple, and some cookies or crackers. On weekends, she makes amazing pancakes for breakfast. My mom works from home, so she's always there when I get back from school to help me with my homework. She's really smart and patient and explains things in a way I can understand. I love my mom so much!
My dad is really funny and tells the best jokes. He works at an office downtown, but gets home in time for dinner every night. After dinner, he always plays games or sports with me and my siblings in the backyard. We play catch, go on bike rides, or just run around. My da
d taught me how to ride my bike without training wheels when I was 5 years old. He's also a great cook and makes delicious grilled cheese sandwiches. I want to be just like my dad when I grow up - goofy but hardworking.
Jake is my 14-year-old brother. Even though he's a lot older than me, he's still really fun and nice to me most of the time. He lets me hang out in his room and we play video games together. Jake is crazy good at every game! He always lets me be the player one controller. Sometimes he gets annoyed when I beat him though, haha. Jake is also on the school basketball team and is amazing at basketball. I go to all his games to cheer him on.
My little sister Emily is 6 years old. She can be annoying sometimes but I love her a lot. We like having tea parties and playing house together. Emily always wants to play the mom and make me be the dad or brother. She's really creative and makes up fun games for us to play. We also color and do arts and crafts activities a bunch. Emily and I share a room which can be hard since she's so messy! But it's cool to have a built-in best friend at home.
