原版在billboardhot100榜冠军位置停留六周，在XXbillboardhot100year-end中排列第三，并获第55届(XX)格莱美年度歌曲奖(songoftheyear)，并获得年度制作，最佳流行乐队/组合提名。
简单的说，《weareyoung》就是一首充满正能量和积极意义的励志歌曲。
也难怪它常常被许多美剧拿来做配乐歌曲，它高昂的情调和戏剧化的张力，也让这首歌曲既有丰富的听觉震撼力，也有许多独立乐团最为缺乏的精气神。
听这首歌曲，就像当年听queen的《wewillrockyou》或者

《weareyoung》这首单曲由乐队主唱nateruess和他们《somenights》的制作人jeffbhasker共同创作完成。
而这首作品的女声演绎，则来自于另一位出生于堪萨斯的黑人女歌手janellemonae。
歌曲的创作可以追溯到XX年2月。
某日，nateruess和jeffbhasker相约于纽约东城bowery酒店的酒吧，商谈音乐事宜。
而为了这次会面，nateruess已经是第三次相约，前两次则都被jeffbhasker放了鸽子。
而这一次，jeffbhasker在和beyonce完成工作后，终于匆匆赶来和nateruess相见，但只提供了十分钟的会谈时间。
不过，nateruess关于将流行和嘻哈融合的创作想法，却很快引起了他的注意。
之后，nateruess将jeffbhasker请到了自己的客房，向他亲自演示了这种想法的成果，即流行、嘻哈和电子融合的效果，而主旋律部分，甚至还有一些beyonce作品的线条。
第二天，jeffbhasker就把nateruess请到了他纽约的工作室。
并最终完成了这首歌曲的母带。
