、教材分析
本单元是关于健康的话题,为学生提供了许多关于健康饮食、个人卫生、锻炼和努力工作、学习等有益健康的信息。本课为Unit2 Good Health to
You 故事课。故事讲述了Helen Keller自幼失去健康,很伤心,后来遇到一位老师,将她引入到学习的道路上来。后来,通过努力学习,她终于成为了一个有名的作家,她的著作也给了人们希望。同时给学生以启迪。《课标》中要求学生能在语境中或者在图片的帮助下正确的运用需要的语句;能在图片的帮助下听懂和读懂与话题有关的简单小故事并作出反应,表达与这些话题有关的简单信息。
、学情分析
六年级的学生已经有了一定的英语知识储备,英语基础知识体系初步形成,具备了简单的英语思维能力。大部分学生对英语的学习积极性浓厚,基础知识扎实,学习方法得当,综合运用的能力较强;但仍有少数学生还是没有掌握合适的方法,学英语仍旧吃力.针对此种情况,教师应充满耐
心,精心备课,在教学中多鼓励他们,帮助他们建立学好英语的自信心。通过单元的学习,学生们对如何健康生活有了一定的认识,在学习Helen Keller这一课时,就较容易的理解拥有健康身体对我们的生活的重要性,以及通过努力工作,努力学习就能改变我们的未来,让我们更加健康的生活。
、教学目标
1、学生能在图片和教师的帮助下理解这个故事;
2、学生能回答关于这个故事的问题
3、学生能借助板书和ppt复述故事。
、教学重难点
教学重点:学生能够在图片和教师的帮助下理解故事内容;
教学难点:学生复述本课故事。(本课故事中的陌生词 汇太多,对学生的语言输出造成一定的心理压力。)

、教学过程:
Step1: Pre-reading
1. Greeting
T:Hello, boys and girls. How are you? Do you do exercise today?
Are you healthy and strong?
S: Yes.
T: Good. Everyone wants to be healthy and strong. But there are many who are not healthy and strong. They can’t do exercise at all. Today, let’s meet a girl.
(设计意图:在师生交谈中直接引出本课,为学生的语言输出节省时间。)
Step2: While-reading
1.
T: (教师出示Helen的图片并将图片贴在黑板上) I have a picture for you .you. Do you have any questions bout her?
S: The student may have many questions .Such as: Who is she? How old is she? Where does she live?What does she do?.......
T: 在黑板上做思维导图,书写相关问题。Then ask the Ss to read the text and try to find the answers quickly.
设计意图:学生略读课文,初步了解Helen,回答相关问题。

T: Now please read the pictuers1-3.Then answer the question on PPT.
S1:  When she was 19 months, she fell ill and became deaf and blind.
T: Ss havent learnt the words deaf or blind. Ask them to find the answers in picture 3.
Now do you know why Helen often got angry?
S1: She often got angry. Because she couldn’t see anything. She couldn’t hear anything. She couldn’t speak anything.
Then lead the Ss read the words and sentences.
How did Helen feel then? If you were Helen, How would you feel?
So please read the picture 1-3 in low voice.
(设计意图:激发学生的好奇心,带着问题去读,能够使学生的注意力集中,并学会关键词,提高阅读效率,用英语解释英语,培养学生的英语思维能力通过推测海伦当时的感受,换位思考以及低音低速阅读,让大家充分体会生病后海伦的痛苦和迷茫。)

T: Helen couldn’t see anything. She couldn’t hear anything. She couldn’t speak at all. She
wanted to be healthy and strong. But she couldn’t. Who could help her? What shoud she/he do? Can she change her life? Please read picture4 to picture8 to see what happened in different years.学生默读故事图4和图8的内容到问题的答案并学生回答。
(设计意图:带着问题读课文,按照时间顺序出Helen的经历及故事的梗概。学生读书的目的性更强,提高学生的阅读能力。同时完成黑板上思维导图的第一级。)

T: Anne is Helens teacher and friend.

(设计意图:通过回答问题以及小组之间触摸物品在手心写字的活动,体会Helen和Anne 之间学与教的不容易。体会到Helen积极努力,永不放弃的学习态度。)
When Helen was 20 years old, she went to the university. What did she learn then? What did she do? What did she write? You can read it. Her story gives everyone hope. Helen’s anther famous book is Three Days to See. Try to read it. It will be good for you.
(设计意图:列出问题,让学生们在默读中进行思考,可以锻炼学生寻读能力。同时,在小组内讨论问题的答案,培养学生的小组合作意识。与此同时,完成板书思维导图的第二级)

(设计意图:完整呈现整个故事,让学生脑中的画面更完整,为之后学生能完整复述故事服务。)

Can you tell the story ? Try to talk about this story in your groups.
几分钟后,请几位同学上前复述故事(可以每人复述一部分)及时评价。
(设计意图:通过对故事的学习和复述,让学生体会健康对人们的重要性,以及认识到努力工作对健康生活的密不可分的关系。)
Step3: Post-reading

T: Boys and girls, Helen was not healthy. But she worked hard. She became a great writer. What can you learn from Helen? 老师提示展示词汇提示卡。
S: We need a healthy body.
S1: We need to study hard.…
2. PPT展示霍金、张海迪和贝多芬图片。
Talk their story briefly.
T: Boys and girls, we have a healthy body and its easier for us to learn. Please work hard at school, at home , at sports.
(设计意图:通过更多名人的励志故事,激励学生。让他们明白努力奋斗的意义。)
