摘要：PURPOSE:To enable the manufacture of a small-dia. throw-away drill in a workable manner by fixing the clamped portion of a cutting edge to a shank with elastic force which is caused by elastic transformation in mutual movement of the opposite faces of a slit, to perform the bonding to the cutting edge. CONSTITUTION:As a cutting edge portion 31 is pressed into, the wedge action of a taper portion 31c allows the opposite faces of a slit 34 to be relatively moved and a clamping portion 33a to be enlarged, and when it is further pressed clamping portions 33a, 33b can be fixed in such a state that the upper end faces thereof are put in contact with the right and left lower end faces of the cutting edge portion 31. That is, elastic force with elastic transformation of the clamping portion 33a having the slit 34 allows the clamped portion 31a to be pressedly clamped and friction force allows the cutting portion 31 to be bonded and fixed to a shank portion 32. The upper end faces of the clamping portion 33a, 33b are put in contact with the cutting edge portion 31 which is being bonded to the shank portion 32, so that the positioning of the cutting edge portion 31 to the shank portion 32 is made more accurately.
