摘要：PURPOSE:To reduce scarfing losses of the slab and achieve the improvement in rolling yield by supplying fuel gas and O2 gas only to the flawed portions of the slab and performing scarfing and in the portions other than flawed portions, supplying O2 gas alone. CONSTITUTION:At one end of the slab, fuel gas and O2 gas are supplied and are fired to perform preheating. After finishing of the preheating, the supply of the fuel gas is stopped and while only the O2 gas is being supplied, the slab is moved and scarfing is accomplished shallow. In an arbitrary position just before the flawed portion, a solenoid valve is opened by turning ON a manual switch to supply fuel gas and scarfing is done. Next, at the terminal end of the flawed portion, the solenoid valve is closed by turning OFF the manual switch to stop the fuel gas supply. By repeating the above-mentioned operations, the flawed portions may be scarfed by a necessary depth.
